Why Rafale is Game changer for India ?

Finally Rafale has arrived in home base Ambala ! and How Rafale is Game Changer for India?

You may often hear the word "Game Changer" And you may wonder, Does Indian Airforce does not have any modern fighter jet? Is it now only Indian Airforce truly have fighter aircraft?

That's not true, the Indian Airforce does have very modern fighter aircraft but there is something in Rafale that truly makes it an evolutionary technique and provide capabilities to India Airforce that hasn't had before not only the Indian Airforce but Any country in Asia including China. India had bought Rafale from Dassault Aviation, a deal of ₹59000 Crore for 36 Fighter Jets.

Let me make a list of those for you.

  1.  THE WEAPONS:  It comes with two weapons that are truly game-changer not just because of capabilities but also because of their range.
    • The First is the Meteor is currently the longest range air to air missile till now ever built which will offer a multi-shot capability against long-range targets with a range in excess of 150 Km its beyond visual range.
    • The Second weapon system SCALP, A deep-strike air-to-ground cruise missile with a range of over 560 kilometers. The few important features of this missile are Its stealthy which means enemies radar cannot even detect this missile approaching towards them. And Its GPS navigated missile which will hit its pinpoint target.
  2. THE SENSOR AND ELECTRONICS: Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Radar, What does AESA Radar actually do ? It will determine the frequency broadcasted by enemy radar and send the same frequency back to their radar which becomes difficult for radar to detect its location. It will also send wrong location to enemy radar by using flares.
  3. RADIUS OF ACTION: A fully loaded Rafale can function  2000 km with its large fuel tank, Which means its not required to deploy the aircraft near to war zone, It can be take-off  from Ambala and deployed into Ladhak
  4. MAINTENANCE : Any aircraft required a lot of maintenance after its every operation but not with Rafale, within a short time it will be ready for its next operation and it's cost-effective, Unlike the USA's F35 its required a lot of maintenance which is expensive and time taking.
